Khurram Murad

Mr Murad was an eminent intellectual and a distinctive leader of the Muslim World. He was a great thinker, author, professor, mentor, engineer and ambassador of humanity. He has studied civil engineering at the Universities of Karachi (BE-1952) and Minnesota, USA, (MS 1958). He was widely acknowledged for his insights into the issues and challenges of the modern world. He was associated with the Associated Consulting Engineers as technical director and was reputed as a model of executive leadership. He planned, designed, and supervised numerous large scale water resource development and other projects as a leading consulting engineer in Karachi, Dhaka, Tehran, and Riyadh. He was director general of the Islamic Foundation, UK during 1977-86. He was editor of the quarterly Muslim World Book Review, Leicester, UK and the monthly Tarjuman-ul-Quran, Lahore, Pakistan. Mr. Murad has authored and edited over 30 books and numerous papers in English as well as Urdu. He has participated in many international conferences in the USA, Europe and the Middle East and lectured on a variety of topics related to Islam and its application to modern life. Mr. Khurram Murad was the founding member of ILM Board of Governors from 1990-1996.
